Check it Out!
Thanks to a Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation grant we have new furniture in our reading area!!!! We invite you to come and sit and read awhile and try out the space. In addition, we are going to have a Read-In to kick start Summer Reading by registering you in a drawing for a chance to win a Beans on Butler gift card for each half hour you read in the library between June 1st and June 31st.
We all know how important reading is and its long-term value to our children’s success in life, so bring your kids and read with them. No matter how old children become, your involvement in their reading can inspire them to become a lifelong reader/learner. If you go online there are a lot of ideas to use to make a family challenge for this summer.
It’s also time to mark your calendars for our annual Summer Reading programs in July. This year’s theme from the state library is A Universe of Stories in honor of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. July 10th - We kick off with a visit from the Jester Puppets and “Space Cadets.” All ages enjoy their programs so come along for the ride! July 17th - We will “Shoot for the Moon” with Astronaut training. July 24th - We have booked the Grout Museum “Space Explorers” with their hands on workshop. Each week will include stories, give away prizes, snacks. Also during the month kids will receive a book(s) to keep for their own. Each program will meet from 1 – 2 p.m.
