Check It Out!
Celebrate July!!! Since Sauerkraut Days will start on July 6th with the Kiddie Parade the library will be closing at 4 p.m. Thursday and remain closed through the weekend during the celebration. Look for us in the Kiddie Parade Thursday night and be sure to read our story walk posted outside around the library block “Dig Dogs, Dig A Construction Tail” when you have some down time during the celebration or are waiting for the parade!
The next week you will want to come and join our summer reading program – “Build a Better World” on Wednesday afternoons at 1 p.m. On July 12th Caulkins Campus will be sharing a show on recycling, on July 19th the Jester Puppets will be presenting “Getting Along With Other People” and on July 26th we will be presenting “Build A Better World, One House at a Time.” Join us for some reading fun, prizes and snacks each time and of course everyone will receive a book to keep. If you have a friend or cousin in Ackley from out of town please ask them to join us!!!
Also watch for Sue and Retha to throw you some candy in the Hardin County Fair Parade as the Hardin County Librarians will be having a float supporting our summer reading theme “Build A Better World.”
As the temperatures rise and softball and baseball finish their season, the library is a great way to fill your ‘spare’ time with books, movies, and puzzels - no matter what your age.
Our 2nd child has finished 1000 Books Before Kindergarten so keep on reading and recording your books pre-schoolers, there’s still time to finish. Younger children are encouraged to begin the challenge at anytime, just stop by the library for details.
